Kamran Akmal: “Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman played reckless shots and got out. Their shot selection wasn’t right, and they need to work on it”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal wants top order batsmen Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub to stop getting out by playing reckless shots.
He noted that the duo have an important role in the team, which is to set a platform for the middle order to build on.
Not wanting to see Zaman and Ayub throw their wickets away again, Akmal urged them to work on their shot selection.
“Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman played reckless shots and got out. Their shot selection wasn’t right, and they need to work on it,” Akmal was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Zaman and Ayub recently played in the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which the men in green won.
Zaman scored 155 runs in five matches, which included a top score of 77 not out, at an average of 38.75 and a strike-rate of 138.39.
As for Ayub, he finished with 111 runs in five games, which included a top score of 69, at an average of 22.20 and a strike-rate of 132.14.
Pakistan are now involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.
So far, Zaman has accumulated 122 runs in five matches, which includes a top score of 50, at an average of 30.50 and a strike-rate of 128.42.
Ayub, meanwhile, has amassed 23 runs in five games at an average of 4.60 and a strike-rate of 95.83.
Pakistan beat Oman and the UAE in the group stage, but lost to India as well.
They were defeated by India again in the Super Four, but fought back to triumph over Sri Lanka.
The men in green will be back in action on September 25 when they take on Bangladesh in Dubai.
