Pakistan batsman Hasan Nawaz is confident he will “go and perform” regardless of whether he is batting at number four, five or six.

Nawaz has produced a number of superb performances with the bat lately, which include T20I half-centuries against Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He also excelled in his ODI debut as he smashed an unbeaten 63 not out against the West Indies.

Even if he is shuffled up or down the order going forward, the 23-year-old from Islamabad knows he has the skills needed to make an impact.

“I don’t care if I bat 4, 5, or 6. Wherever the team tells me, I’ll go and perform,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Nawaz is now featuring in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is taking place in the UAE.

So far, he has mustered 17 runs at an average of 5.66 and a strike-rate of 65.38.

In the group stage of the tournament, Pakistan beat Oman and the UAE, while also losing to India.

They fell to India again in the Super Four before securing a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka, which kept their campaign alive.

Pakistan will be back in action on September 25 when they face Bangladesh in Dubai.
