Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson said batsman Hussain Talat has shown “some skill with the bat” since being recalled to the national team.

Talat featured in one T20I against Bangladesh in Mirpur, where he scored one run and took one wicket.

He then played in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against the West Indies and amassed 73 runs at an average of 36.50.

“He showed some skill with the bat as well. So we’re developing a little bit of depth there,” Hesson was quoted as saying by Khel Shel.

After the West Indies tour, Pakistan faced the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.

The men in green are now participating in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.

So far, they have won two games – against Oman and the UAE – and lost one, which came against arch-rivals India.

Having secured a spot in the Super Four stage, Pakistan will take on India once again on September 21 in Dubai.
