Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has praised T20I captain Salman Ali Agha for sacrificing his batting to put the team first.
Wasim added that he has been very impressed with Salman’s captaincy thus far and expects his decisions to have “a positive effect on the other players”.
“I’m impressed by Salman Ali Agha’s captaincy. He sacrificed his batting for the team. When a captain puts the team first, it has a positive effect on the other players,” the Sultan of Swing was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Under Salman’s captaincy, Pakistan beat Bangladesh 3-0 in a T20I series in Lahore.
The men in green then went to Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but ended up losing 2-1.
They bounced back to beat the West Indies 2-1 in a T20I series before going on to win a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan.
Pakistan are now taking part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.
So far, they have won two matches – against Oman and the UAE – and lost one, which came against India.
With Pakistan through to the Super Four, they will be looking to avenge their loss to India when they face their arch-rivals again on September 21 in Dubai.
