Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson believes big-hitting batsman Hasan Nawaz is really special, calling him a “quality player on the rise”.
Nawaz has been very impressive since making his international debut in March 2025 as he has consistently contributed with solid scores and played a highly entertaining and attacking brand of cricket.
During Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, he scored 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.
The men in green then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is and Nawaz finished with 33 runs at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.
He bounced back during the tour of the West Indies as he made 79 runs in three T20Is at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.
The 23-year-old then made his ODI debut and struck 112 runs in three matches, which included a career-best knock of 63 not out, at an average of 112.
As for the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, Nawaz ended up with 93 runs in five matches, which included a top score of 56, at an average of 18.60 and a strike-rate of 143.07.
Having seen Nawaz’s brilliance with the bat, Hesson knows the Islamabad native is destined for great things.
“Certainly a quality player on the rise,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan are now featuring in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.
So far, Nawaz has amassed 14 runs in two games at an average of seven and a strike-rate of 63.63.

Their next game will be against the UAE on September 17 in Dubai.

the pakıstan team does not have an accomplıshed batsmen.they may be able to strike the ball but are very ınconsistent.they had 2 accomplished batsmen ın babar and rızwan but they dropped them.both babar and rızwan can do the same thıng .score one fifty in every 10 innings at a faster pace.IF PAKISTAN WANTS TO BE COMPETITIVE THEY HAVE TO BRING BACK THEIR PREMIER BATSMEN WITH A MIX OF THE YOUNGER STARS.THE YOUNGER PLAYERS NEED STALLWARTS LIKE BABAR AND RIZVAN
