Veteran Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has lambasted batsman Babar Azam for “finding new ways to get out”.
Azam has been struggling to score runs on a consistent basis for many months, which has become a huge problem for the men in green.
Recently, he featured in a three-match ODI series against the West Indies and accumulated 56 runs at an average of 18.66.
Shehzad doesn’t mind that the 30-year-old was dismissed for a duck on one occasion during the series, but insisted that he has to do better when it comes to not throwing his wicket away.
“Getting out on zero is not a new thing, but each passing day, Babar Azam is finding new ways to get out,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following their tour of the West Indies, Pakistan took on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.
They are now playing in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.
The men in green have won two games – against Oman and the UAE – and lost one, which came against India.
Having made it through to the Super Four stage, Pakistan will be on the hunt for revenge when they go up against arch-rivals India once again on September 21 in Dubai.
