Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha: “We want to win the T20 World Cup next year and all our preparations are focused on winning that ICC event”

Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha is confident that his team can win the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The men in green have been turbulent when it comes to their performances in the shortest format, but Salman knows if his side prepare well, they can go all the way.
The 2026 T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
“We want to win the T20 World Cup next year and all our preparations are focused on winning that ICC event,” Salman was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Recently, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in a T20I series in Lahore before playing three more T20Is against the same opposition in Mirpur, which they lost 2-1.
The men in green then travelled to the West Indies and came out on top in the T20I series as they won 2-1. However, they ended up losing the ODI series 2-1.
After their tour of the West Indies, Pakistan faced the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.
They are now taking part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.
The men in green started off with a 93-run win over Oman before suffering a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of India.
Their next game will be against the UAE on September 17 in Dubai.
