Former Pakistan spinner Tauseef Ahmed has stressed the need to get rid of part-time bowlers and instead have five proper options who can deliver wickets with the ball on a consistent basis.
He noted that the men in green are relying too heavily on part-timers to get the job done when their main bowlers fail to perform.
The 67-year-old singled out T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, saying he should not be bowling if Pakistan have specialist bowlers in the playing XI.
“You say Salman Agha can bowl, and this and that guy too. There is a need to put an end to this. You should keep five proper bowlers,” Tauseef told ARY News.
Pakistan recently took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore and triumphed 3-0.

The men in green then toured the West Indies, where they won the T20I series 2-1 but lost the ODIs 2-1.
After this, Pakistan faced the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.
They are now featuring in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being played in the UAE.
The men in green kicked off their campaign on a high as they thumped Oman by 93 runs.
Pakistan’s next match will be against India on September 14 in Dubai.
