Saud Shakeel: “Having experienced players like Mohammad Amir helps. His aggressive style is something young bowlers should learn from”

Pakistan batsman Saud Shakeel believes young bowlers should copy left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir’s aggressive style of bowling.
Amir is known for making life tough for opposition batsmen as he tests them with his variations and attacking line and length.
Given the number of wickets the 33-year-old regularly gets, Shakeel thinks he is a good role model for youngsters.
“Having experienced players like Mohammad Amir helps. His aggressive style is something young bowlers should learn from,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Amir performed brilliantly in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he played under Shakeel’s captaincy for the Quetta Gladiators.
In nine matches, the Gujar Khan native claimed 13 wickets at an average of 18.07 and an economy rate of 7.79.
Following PSL 10, Pakistan went up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they won 3-0.
They then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is in Mirpur, but ended up being beaten 2-1.
After that, the men in green travelled to the West Indies for a limited overs series and began by winning the T20Is 2-1 before losing the ODIs 2-1.
Most recently, Pakistan faced the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.
They will now be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
