Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja said batting all-rounder Hussain Talat “has definitely improved”.
Talat was recently recalled to the national team and Ramiz acknowledged that he can see “a refinement in his game”.
During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Talat scored 205 runs in nine matches for the Peshawar Zalmi, which included a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 41 and a strike-rate of 134.86.
He also took five wickets at an average of 24.40 and an economy rate of 10.30.
After PSL 10, Talat missed Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, which the men in green won 3-0.
He returned for the tour of Bangladesh, where he made one run and took one wicket in the one T20I he played.
After that, he was involved in the white-ball series against the West Indies, but only featured in the ODI leg.
The 29-year-old struck 73 runs in three ODIs at an average of 36.50, but went wicketless in the four overs he bowled.
“I’m pleased with Hussain Talat’s selection. There’s a refinement in his game; he has definitely improved,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Geo Super.
Pakistan will now feature in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will be played from August 29 to September 7.
Following this, they will be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
