Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali has praised spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan’s leadership, saying he is an “aggressive captain”.
Shadab is currently Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain, but many people believe he could take charge of the national team in the future.
Having seen the 26-year-old leading Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hasan knows how strong Shadab’s captaincy skills are.
“Shadab Khan is an aggressive captain,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
In the 2025 PSL, Shadab picked up 14 wickets in 10 matches for Islamabad United at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
He also did well with the bat, amassing 173 runs at an average of 24.71 and a strike-rate of 155.85.
Following PSL 10, Shadab was involved in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and took four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
He also scored 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.
Afterwards, Pakistan toured Bangladesh for three T20Is before travelling to the West Indies to play three T20Is and three ODIs. Shadab ended up missing both assignments as he underwent surgery on his right shoulder.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will take place from August 29 to September 7.
Afterwards, the men in green will participate in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
Since Shadab is still recovering from shoulder surgery, he was not included in Pakistan’s team for the T20I tri-series and Asia Cup.
