Former Australia opener Aaron Finch believes Pakistan superstar Babar Azam is “probably the most beautiful batter in the world”.
Azam has regularly been complimented for his elegance and exquisite technique when batting, along with his cover drive, which many cricketers feel is the best out of all batsmen.
The 30-year-old recently captained the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and made 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
After the PSL ended, he was ignored by the selectors for Pakistan’s T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and the T20I tour of Bangladesh.
As for the recently-concluded tour of the West Indies, the Lahore-born batsman was once again left out of the T20I team.
However, he did feature in the three-match ODI series and amassed 56 runs at an average of 18.66.
“Probably the most beautiful batter in the world, Babar Azam,” Finch said on The Surge: Big Bash Podcast as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan will now feature in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will be played from August 29 to September 7.
Following this, they will be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
However, Azam was not included in the team Pakistan announced for the T20I tri-series and the Asia Cup.
