Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan has expressed his desire to play limited overs cricket and not just be restricted to Tests.
Sajid has become a pivotal member of the Test team as he has taken 59 wickets in 12 matches, which includes four five-wicket hauls, at an average of 27.28.
Having cemented his spot in the Test side, the 31-year-old is looking to the same in ODIs and T20Is, but he first needs to make his debut in both formats.
To improve his white-ball bowling skills, Sajid recently attended a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Skills Development camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.
“Playing Test cricket is a huge honour for everyone but I also want to play white-ball cricket for Pakistan and the camp specifically helps in honing those skills required in shorter formats,” he was quoted as saying in a PCB press release.
Sajid did not take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and nor did he feature in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the T20I tour of Bangladesh, and the limited overs tour of the West Indies.
Next up for the men in green will be a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will be held from August 29 to September 7.
Afterwards, Pakistan will take part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
