Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja believes big-hitter Mohammad Haris is an “important player” even though he has been in and out of the national team.

Haris earned a recall recently through a string of strong performances at the domestic level.

During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he finished with 247 runs in 10 matches for the Peshawar Zalmi, which included a top score of 87, at an average of 27.44 and a strike-rate of 148.79.

After the PSL concluded, he was picked for Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and continued to remain in red-hot form as he smashed 179 runs, which included a career-best knock of 107 not out, at an average of 89.50 and a strike-rate of 201.12.

The 24-year-old couldn’t maintain his momentum during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh as he was restricted to nine runs in three T20Is at an average of three and a strike-rate of 50.

“He is an important player,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Geo Super.

After back-to-back series against Bangladesh, Pakistan toured the West Indies and kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win in the three T20Is that were played.

Haris struck 12 runs at an average of six and a strike-rate of 133.33.

As for the ODI series in Trinidad, Haris did not take part in it as the men in green succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
