Aaron Finch: “Shaheen is a match-winner and can change the course of a game with his bowling. Every team would want him”

Former Australia opening batsman Aaron Finch has called Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi a match-winner and game-changer.
Afridi is renowned for being a threat in the beginning overs of a match as he often strikes early with the new ball.
Having been selected by the Brisbane Heat with the first pick in the draft for this year’s Big Bash League (BBL), Finch can’t wait to see the 25-year-old in action.
“Shaheen is a match-winner and can change the course of a game with his bowling. Every team would want him,” he was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.
Afridi recently captained the Lahore Qalandars in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and finished as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 19 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 16.42 and an economy rate of 7.76.
Despite dominating in PSL 10, he was not picked for Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore.
He was also ignored by the selectors for the tour of Bangladesh, where Pakistan played three T20Is.
The men in green are now touring the West Indies and Afridi made his return in the three-match T20I series, taking two wickets in two games at an average of 29 and an economy rate of 7.25.
He is currently involved in the ODI series and has picked up four wickets in two matches at an average of 21.50.
The series is tied at 1-1 heading into the 3rd ODI on August 12 in Trinidad.
