Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has announced that he fully trusts T20I captain Salman Ali Agha.

He noted that he has faith in Salman’s decision-making skills, which is why “you won’t see me constantly sending messages during matches”.

“I trust Salman, which is why you won’t see me constantly sending messages during matches. I believe in giving the players space to make decisions,” Hesson was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Salman recently played for Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and scored 201 runs in nine matches at an average of 25.12 and a strike-rate of 136.73.

He also took two wickets at an average of 33.50 and an economy rate of 8.37.

After PSL 10, the 31-year-old captained Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and made 90 runs, which included a career-best knock of 56, at an average of 45 and a strike-rate of 155.17.

Bowling-wise, he claimed one wicket at an average of 43 and an economy rate of 10.75.

Pakistan then toured Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series and Salman amassed 24 runs at an average of 12 and a strike-rate of 58.53.

He also picked up one wicket at an average of 12 and an economy rate of six.

The men in green are now touring the West Indies and won the T20I series 2-1.

In the three matches he played, Salman struck 49 runs at an average of 49 and a strike-rate of 113.95.

He failed to have an impact with the ball as he went wicketless.

Pakistan and the West Indies are currently involved in a three-match ODI series, which the men in green lead 1-0 after winning the first match by five wickets.

In that match, Salman scored 23 runs and took one wicket.

The 2nd ODI will be played on August 10 in Trinidad.
