Pakistan speedster Khurram Shahzad: “I’ve been told that I should be ready for white-ball cricket by the selection committee”

Pakistan seamer Khurram Shahzad revealed that the national selectors have told him to get ready for white-ball cricket.
Shahzad has yet to make his debut in both ODIs and T20Is, but put up a strong performance in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which likely caused him to land on the selectors’ radar.
In eight matches for the Quetta Gladiators, the 25-year-old from Mandi Bahauddin took 12 wickets at an average of 19.50 and an economy rate of 8.06.
“I’ve been told that I should be ready for white-ball cricket by the selection committee,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Shahzad didn’t feature in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh after PSL 10, which the men in green won 3-0.
He also wasn’t part of the squad for Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, where they lost the T20I series 2-1.
Currently, Shahzad is playing county cricket in England as he represented Worcestershire in the Vitality Blast.
He is now involved in the County Championship and has claimed seven wickets in two matches for Worcestershire at an average of 39.42.
As for the Pakistan team, they are now touring the West Indies for three ODIs and three T20Is.
The men in green are 1-0 up in the T20I series.
