Pakistan ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has praised big-hitter Hasan Nawaz, saying he is “improving day by day”.
Nawaz is one of the brightest prospects in the country right now and has put his talent on full display in T20Is as he has registered a century and a fifty in 12 matches.
The 22-year-old was also a force to be reckoned with in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.
Following PSL 10, Nawaz featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and made 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.
As for Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, he finished with 33 runs in three T20Is at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.
Despite not having as much success in the T20I series in Mirpur, Rizwan still thinks the Islamabad native has a really bright future ahead of him.
“Hasan Nawaz is improving day by day,” the 33-year-old, who captained the Multan Sultans in the PSL, was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan are now touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.
Nawaz has been included in both squads, which suggests he could make his ODI debut very soon.
In the T20I series, he has made 64 runs in two games at an average of 32 and a strike-rate of 156.09.
The series is tied 1-1 going into the 3rd T20I on August 4 in Lauderhill.
