Pakistan pace bowler Ahmed Daniyal said he is bowling a lot better after having a chat with Director of High-Performance Aaqib Javed.
Daniyal revealed he spoke to Aaqib, who is a former fast bowler, prior to the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This talk really helped the 28-year-old as he went on to take six wickets in four matches for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 22.33 and an economy rate of 8.93.
Among the things that Daniyal worked on going into PSL 10 was his run-up, line and length, and variations.
“Before the season, I had a chat with Aaqib (Javed) bhai about my run-up – it was a bit short earlier. That conversation really helped me gain better control over my bowling. Now, I focus on hitting the right channels and mixing things up based on the surface,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following PSL 10, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series and triumphed 3-0.
Daniyal then made his international debut when the men in green toured Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series and finished with three wickets in two games at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 5.57.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a white-ball tour of the West Indies, which will consist of three T20Is and three ODIs that will be held from August 1 to 12.
