Pakistan T20I skipper Salman Ali Agha has called spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan one of the best captains in the country.
Salman’s comments were in reference to Shadab and his success leading Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Under the 26-year-old’s captaincy, Islamabad won the PSL in 2024.
Given that Salman also plays for the franchise, he acknowledged how good of a leader Shadab is.
“Right now, in PSL, he is one of Pakistan’s best captains,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
During the 2025 PSL, Shadab, who is Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain, took 14 wickets in 10 matches for Islamabad at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
He also amassed 173 runs at an average of 24.71 and a strike-rate of 155.85.
Following the conclusion of PSL 10, the Mianwali native featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and finished with four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
Batting-wise, he made 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.
Pakistan are now touring Bangladesh, but Shadab was not included in the squad as he is recovering after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder.
The men in green are 2-0 down in the series going into the 3rd T20I on July 24 in Mirpur.
