Rashid Latif: “Yes, Farhan got a chance, but I believe he should have received more opportunities”

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes batsman Sahibzada Farhan should have “received more opportunities” to play international cricket earlier on.
Farhan has only featured in 11 T20Is, but they have come over the span of seven years.
The Islamabad native has been piling on the runs in domestic cricket as he was the highest run-scorer in the National T20 Cup with 605 runs in seven matches for Peshawar Region, which included three centuries and two fifties, at a stunning average of 121 and a strike-rate of 189.65.
He also finished atop the run-scorers list in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he amassed 449 runs in 12 games for Islamabad United, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 37.41 and a strike-rate of 152.20.
Given how well he has been performing lately, Latif cannot understand why the national selectors kept on overlooking the 29-year-old.
“Yes, Farhan got a chance, but I believe he should have received more opportunities,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Following PSL 10, Farhan took part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and struck 75 runs in two games, which included a career-best knock of 74, at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 166.66.
The men in green won that series 3-0.
Pakistan are now touring Bangladesh and find themselves 2-0 down in the three-match T20I series.
Farhan was not included in the playing XI for the first two games.
The 3rd T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be held on July 24 in Mirpur.
