Former Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait jokingly said that he sometimes thinks Pakistan speedster Hasan Ali is the bowling coach.
Tait recently worked with Hasan during the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the Karachi Kings’ bowling coach.
During PSL 10, Hasan was outstanding with the ball as he was the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.47 and an economy rate of 9.03.
Tait pointed out that Hasan is a “bowling leader” and doesn’t “interfere with his bowling too much” as the 31-year-old “knows what he is doing”.
“He [Hasan] is a sort of leader, I think sometimes he is a bowling coach. He takes the leadership and he tries to help the younger guys. He is good in this regard as a bowling leader. I have worked with him in the past, and I don’t interfere with his bowling too much, now at this stage of his career, he knows what he is doing,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
After PSL 10 finished, Hasan played in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and did incredibly well as he snapped up eight wickets, which included a career-best five-wicket haul, at an average of 11.12 and an economy rate of 9.53.
Pakistan are now touring Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series, but Hasan was not selected since he is representing the Birmingham Bears in the Vitality Blast.
The men in green lost the 1st T20I by seven wickets.
The 2nd T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh will take place on July 22 in Mirpur.
