New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson has branded Babar Azam as an “amazing player” and said he has always enjoyed watching the Pakistan batsman in action.
Azam has been fighting to get back in form after experiencing a rough patch for many months.
In his last couple of assignments, the 30-year-old has shown positive signs as he made 129 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand, which included two half-centuries, at an average of 43.
He continued to remain solid with the bat while captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he accumulated 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
“Obviously over the years, having played against Pakistan a lot, I always have enjoyed watching Babar Bat. You know, he’s an amazing player and a beautiful player to watch. So, he’s one that I’ve always enjoyed,” Williamson told Cricket Pakistan.
Despite doing well in PSL 10, Azam was not selected for Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which the men in green won 3-0.
