David Warner: “One of my favourite rivals”

Former Australia opening batsman David Warner has picked Pakistan left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi as one of his favourite rivals.
The duo have had many battles over the years, some of which have been incredibly intense while others have been more lighthearted.
Nonetheless, Warner knows that Afridi is a quality bowler as they recently faced each other in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Warner captained the Karachi Kings in PSL 10, while Afridi led the Lahore Qalandars, who went on to be crowned champions.
“One of my favourite rivals,” Warner said in a post on Instagram.
Afridi was the highest wicket-taker in PSL 10 with 19 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 16.42 and an economy rate of 7.76.
As for Warner, he scored 368 runs in 11 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 33.45 and a strike-rate of 153.97.
After the PSL finished, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Afridi was not picked in the squad.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
