West Indies captain Shai Hope has lauded Pakistan fast bowler Ali Raza, saying he bowls with a bit of gas and is a future prospect to keep an eye on.

Raza has been incredibly impressive in domestic cricket thus far as he already has two five-wicket hauls in first-class cricket after only six matches.

The 17-year-old continued to shine to in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he took 12 wickets in nine games for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 25.25 and an economy rate of 9.18.

“He’s very exciting. Seems to be coming out with a bit of gas. I didn’t face him unfortunately, but he looks like he’s got a spring in his step and he’s certainly one that you can look out for in the future for Pakistan,” Hope, who played for the Multan Sultans, said in a video posted by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Following PSL 10, Pakistan went up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Raza did not make the cut when the squad was announced.

The men in green won the series 3-0.
