Peshawar Zalmi Director of Cricket Affairs Mohammad Akram believes fast bowler Ihsanullah is still “a valuable asset for Pakistan” despite his injury setback.

Ihsanullah rose to prominence during the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the second-highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets in 12 matches for the Multan Sultans at an average of 15.77.

Shortly after, he made his international debut. However, his time in the national team was cut short by an elbow injury that sidelined him for a lengthy period of time.

Having made a full recovery, Ihsanullah recently played in the National T20 Cup and picked up four wickets in three matches for Peshawar Region at an average of 25.75 and an economy rate of 8.58.

Seeing that the 22-year-old is still an excellent wicket-taker, Akram believes the Matta native can revive his international career and go on to do great things for Pakistan.

“He is a valuable asset for Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Ihsanullah was not involved in Pakistan’s limited overs tour of New Zealand or the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He also didn’t feature in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which the men in green won 3-0.
