Iconic Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has admitted that he is fed up of hearing legendary India opening batsman Virender Sehwag talk about the 300 he scored against the men in green.
Sehwag struck a sublime 309 off 375 balls, which included 39 boundaries and six sixes, in the 1st Test against Pakistan in Multan back in 2004.
While it is heralded as one of the greatest Test knocks, Akhtar wants Sehwag to move on from it as he has been bringing it up again and again for 20 years.
“I saw a video of Viru Paaji. Man, I am fed up of hearing him talk. It is the same tape he has been playing for the last 20 years – ‘300, 300, 300’. Come on, brother, I was there too when you scored that 300,” the Rawalpindi Express, who holds the record for the fastest ball bowled in international cricket at 161.3 kph (100.2 mph), was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where they were eliminated in the group stage after going winless throughout their campaign.
Following this, they travelled to New Zealand and were beaten 4-1 in the T20Is before getting thumped 3-0 in the ODIs.
Many of the national players then took part in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Lahore Qalandars won.
Pakistan are now facing Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they lead 2-0.
The 3rd T20I will be played on June 1 in Lahore.
