Pakistan left-arm seamer Junaid Khan has blasted the country’s former players for constantly criticising the national team, saying they should “step forward and help”.
The men in green have endured a torrid time in international cricket lately as they were knocked out in the group stage of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Following this, Pakistan toured New Zealand and were demolished 4-1 in the T20Is before being whitewashed 3-0 in the ODIs.
Having seen many ex-cricketers consistently lambast the current Pakistan team, Junaid feels they should be doing their part to help the players who are struggling at the moment.
“Our former players who sit on television and criticise, instead why don’t you step forward and help the players you are criticising,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Many of the national players are now involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will conclude on May 25.
Once PSL 10 finishes, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore from May 28 to June 1.
