Mohammad Yousuf: “Someone has to talk to Babar Azam, it’s sad [a] great talent like him is getting wasted”

Pakistan batting coach Mohammad Yousuf said he hates to see a “great talent” like Babar Azam “getting wasted”.
Yousuf confirmed that someone needs to speak to Azam as the 30-year-old continues his pursuit of finding his form with the bat.
Azam’s struggles have affected the men in green as he has been their most dependable batsman in all three formats for years.
“Someone has to talk to Babar Azam, it’s sad [a] great talent like him is getting wasted,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam recently took part in the 2025 Champions Trophy and made 87 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.
He then proceeded to score 129 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
At the moment, Azam is captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has amassed 288 runs in 10 matches, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
Once PSL 10 ends on May 25, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore from May 28 to June 1.
However, Azam was not included in the squad that was announced for the series.
