Pakistan top order batsman Ahmed Shehzad has slammed the national players for their fitness, saying they have fat stomachs and double chins.
He noted that the fitness levels within the national team are very poor and stressed that the players are totally at fault.
Shehzad’s comments come at a time when the men in green haven’t been getting the results they want.
During the 2025 Champions Trophy, Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage after going winless throughout the tournament.
Following this, they embarked on a white-ball tour of New Zealand and lost the five-match T20I series 4-1 before getting whitewashed 3-0 in the ODIs.
“It is very sad to see how poor the fitness of these players is. They have a paunch and double chin. These are all their own mistakes,” Shehzad told Sports Tak.
Many of the national players are now involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which began on April 11 and will conclude on May 18.
