Moin Khan: “Why wasn’t Aamer Jamal in the squad? From what I have seen he is the sort of dedicated and passionate player we need. Did we even give him a fair chance to develop as a white-ball player?”

Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has questioned whether fast-bowling all-rounder Aamer Jamal was given “a fair chance to develop as a white-ball player”.
Jamal has featured in three ODIs and taken three wickets at an average of 28.33.
He has also represented his country in six T20Is and claimed two wickets at an average of 93.50.
Despite his lack of success with the ball, the 28-year-old has had an impact with the bat, scoring 88 runs at an average of 22 and a strike-rate of 179.59.
Considering the talent the Mianwali native possesses, Moin doesn’t understand why Jamal isn’t in the Pakistan team right now.
“Why wasn’t Aamer Jamal in the squad? From what I have seen he is the sort of dedicated and passionate player we need. Did we even give him a fair chance to develop as a white-ball player?” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Jamal missed the 2025 Champions Trophy and Pakistan’s limited overs tour of New Zealand, where the men in green lost the T20Is 4-1 and the ODIs 3-0.
Currently, he is playing for the Karachi Kings in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has claimed four wickets in five matches at an average of 23.75 and an economy rate of 8.63.
PSL 10 began on April 11 and will conclude on May 18.
