Rashid Latif: “Younis Khan said no to Pakistan cricket to work with Afghanistan. There will be no financial benefits here”

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has claimed that legendary batsman Younis Khan didn’t want to work with the national team in any capacity.
Latif’s comments come after Younis served as a mentor for Afghanistan during the 2025 Champions Trophy.
He explained the 47-year-old opted to work with Afghanistan since there would be “no financial benefits” if he were to help the Pakistan team.
“Younis Khan said no to Pakistan cricket to work with Afghanistan. There will be no financial benefits here,” Latif said on Geo News show ‘Haarna Mana Hai‘ as quoted by NDTV.
In the Champions Trophy, Pakistan failed to impress as they were knocked out in the group stage after going winless.
Afterwards, they embarked on a limited overs tour of New Zealand and were crushed 4-1 in the T20Is.
As for the three-match ODI series that followed, the men in green were whitewashed 3-0.
Many of the Pakistan players will now take part in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PSL 10 will take place from April 11 to May 18.
