Former West Indies pace bowler Ian Bishop believes big-hitting batsman Mohammad Haris is exactly who Pakistan need in limited overs cricket.

Bishop acknowledged that Haris is inconsistent, but feels the men in green can build him into an excellent cricketer.

The 24-year-old did not feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy, but made his international comeback in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which Pakistan lost 4-1.

In that series, he amassed 65 runs in five games at an average of 13.

“There’s a young man called Mohammad Haris around Pakistan here, who I think…he’s inconsistent but he’s exactly what white-ball cricket needs. How can you build a guy like that?” Bishop was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan and New Zealand are now involved in a three-match ODI series, but Haris was not included in the squad.

The men in green trail 2-0 going into the 3rd ODI on April 5 in Mount Maunganui.
