Mohammad Hafeez: “Mohammad Rizwan and Aaqib Javed must continue with [the] Pakistan cricket team. They must be held accountable but must complete their tenure”

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez believes Mohammad Rizwan and Aaqib Javed should keep their roles as ODI captain and head coach respectively.
Both Rizwan and Aaqib have been heavily criticised for the men in green’s poor performances as of late and questions have been raised about how long they will continue on in their respective positions.
However, even though Hafeez stressed the importance of holding them accountable, he still wants the duo to “complete their tenure”.
“Mohammad Rizwan and Aaqib Javed must continue with [the] Pakistan cricket team. They must be held accountable but must complete their tenure,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan recently featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy and failed to make it past the group stage as they went winless.
Pakistan are now taking on New Zealand in a white-ball series, which began with them losing the T20Is 4-1.
Both teams are now involved in a three-match ODI series, which the Black Caps lead 1-0 after triumphing by 73 runs in the 1st ODI.
The 2nd ODI got underway on April 2 in Hamilton.
