Pakistan batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has slammed the batsmen in the national team for swinging the bat blindly instead of playing proper cricket shots.

Yousuf’s frustration comes after the men in green have put up a number of subpar performances as of late.

In their ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, they reached the final before losing to the Black Caps.

Following this, they featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy and were eliminated in the group stage after going winless.

Currently, Pakistan are taking on New Zealand in a limited overs series and were crushed 4-1 in the T20Is.

Yousuf admitted that the Pakistan batsmen have to be more disciplined when batting if the team is to turn their fortunes around.

“It is not acceptable to just swing the bat blindly,” he said on Samaa TV programme Zor Ka Jor.

Pakistan and New Zealand are now involved in a three-match ODI series, which the Black Caps lead 1-0 after triumphing by 73 runs in the 1st ODI in Napier.

The 2nd ODI will be played on April 2 in Hamilton.
