Pakistan batsman Khushdil Shah: “I don’t take it (criticism) to heart because you can’t stop people from saying what they say. The only answer I can give is to do my best and play a role in helping our team win”

Pakistan power-hitter Khushdil Shah said he doesn’t take criticism personally as “you can’t stop people from saying what they say”.
The 30-year-old recently returned to the national team and featured in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
In the three games he played, he scored 22 runs at an average of 11.
Additionally, he picked up one wicket at an average of 127.
Khushdil performed much better in the 2025 Champions Trophy as he was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer with 107 runs in two matches, which included a career-best knock of 69, at an average of 53.50 and a strike-rate of 121.59.
He also took one wicket at an average of 83.
The Bannu native knows that people will criticse him for certain aspects of his game, but noted that all he can do is keep giving his best.
“I don’t take it (criticism) to heart because you can’t stop people from saying what they say. The only answer I can give is to do my best and play a role in helping our team win,” he was quoted as saying by Sports Tak.
Pakistan lost to New Zealand and India in the Champions Trophy, which resulted in them crashing out in the group stage.
Their final game against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.
Pakistan are now playing a limited overs series against New Zealand, which consists of five T20Is and three ODIs.
The men in green are 2-0 down in the T20I series going into the 3rd T20I on March 21 in Auckland.
In the first two matches, Khushdil posted scores of 32 and 2.
