Azhar Ali: “The Pakistan team management rushes bowlers back after an injury; their rehabilitation is not done as it should be”

Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has revealed that the “team management rushes bowlers back after an injury”.
He noted that bowlers are not given enough time to recover properly, which results in them getting injured again or not performing at their peak level.
Azhar, who is currently a national selector and the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) head of youth development, insisted that this should not happen as it is doing more harm than good to the country’s bowlers.
“The Pakistan team management rushes bowlers back after an injury; their rehabilitation is not done as it should be,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
The men in green recently featured in an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where they made it to the final before being beaten by the Black Caps.
They were then involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy, but got eliminated in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.
Their final game against Bangladesh was washed out, meaning they went winless throughout their entire campaign.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of New Zealand, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
