Pakistan superstar Babar Azam said New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson is one of his idols as he is a “very special” player.
Azam noted that whenever he asks Williamson something, the 34-year-old will always take the time to explain it “very well” to him.
Williamson has been in phenomenal form lately and is currently playing in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he has scored 189 runs in four matches, which includes a century and a fifty, at an average of 47.25.
New Zealand have made it to the final, where they will play India in Dubai on March 9.
“Very special, one of my idols. Whenever I needed to ask something, he always explained it very well,” Azam was quoted as saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.

As for the Champions Trophy, he made 87 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.

Their final match against Bangladesh was washed out, meaning they went winless throughout their campaign.
