Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has taken aim at fast bowler Naseem Shah, saying he has had no significant contributions as of late.
Naseem is one of Pakistan’s first-choice speedsters in all three formats and recently featured in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
In the three games he played, he took three wickets at an average of 60.33.
The 22-year-old was then involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy and claimed two wickets in two games at an average of 50.
With Naseem falling short of expectations, Latif wants to see more meaningful performances from him that end up winning games for Pakistan.
“Naseem has also not contributed significantly to Pakistan’s success,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Pakistan crashed out in the group stage of the Champions Trophy after losing to New Zealand and India, while their final game against Bangladesh was washed out.
The men in green will now tour New Zealand and play five T20Is and three ODIs from March 16 to April 5.
