Ahmed Shehzad: “His social media team controls everything”

Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has claimed that batsman Babar Azam’s “social media team controls everything”.
Azam’s form has been very turbulent over the past couple of months as he has shown signs of getting back to his best before failing to have an impact once again.
This was evident during Pakistan’s series against South Africa and the West Indies.
The 30-year-old started off the tour of South Africa by scoring 31 runs in two T20Is at an average of 10.50.
He saw more success in the three-match ODI series as he amassed 148 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 49.33.
Azam continued to impress in the two-Test series, accumulating 193 runs, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 48.25.
Unfortunately, he was unable to maintain his newfound momentum in the two-Test series against the West Indies as he mustered 45 runs at an average of 11.25.
“His social media team controls everything,” Shehzad was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After the West Indies series, Azam took part in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and finished with 62 runs in three games at an average of 20.66.
He is now involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy and has posted scores of 64 and 23 in the first two matches against New Zealand and India respectively.
Despite this, Pakistan lost both games and will crash out in the group stage of the tournament.
Pakistan’s last Champions Trophy match will be against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi.
