Pakistan batsman Tayyab Tahir has made it clear that he will always give 100 percent effort regardless of where he bats.

Tahir is starting to get more chances to represent his country and recently featured in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.

In the three matches he played, the 31-year-old batted at number six and scored 72 runs at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 114.28.

Currently, he is representing Pakistan in the 2025 Champions Trophy and only made one run in the opening game against New Zealand.

Whether he continues batting at number six or is promoted up the order, Tahir insisted that his top priority is scoring runs to help the men in green win matches.

“Look, I will do my best to fulfil my role and will try to perform for my team regardless of my batting position,” the Gujrat native was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Pakistan lost to New Zealand in their Champions Trophy opener and will now take on India on February 23 in Dubai.
