Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan has predicted that batsman Babar Azam will dominate in the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy, saying “it’s your time”.
Azam is currently in the midst of a rough patch and has struggled to score runs constantly lately.
The Champions Trophy provides the perfect platform for the 30-year-old to rediscover his form as Pakistan will be looking to retain the trophy they won in the last edition of the tournament back in 2017.
Knowing Azam is in dire need of runs, Sajid told the Lahore native to “start now”.
“Go well [Bobby] Bhai it’s your time, start now Insha Allah mark my words,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Prior to the Champions Trophy, Azam featured in an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and scored 62 runs at an average of 20.66.
In the opening game of the Champions Trophy against New Zealand, he struck 64 runs off 90 balls, which included six boundaries and a six, as Pakistan went on to lose the game by 60 runs.
Pakistan’s next match will be against India on February 23 in Dubai.
