Mitchell Santner: “Yeah, he’s a problem for us. He likes playing New Zealand, I think he’s got runs every time he’s played us… We know how good he is, along with a lot of their top six, top seven”

New Zealand limited overs captain Mitchell Santner admitted that Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman is a problem as he scores big runs.
Zaman made his international comeback in Pakistan’s recent ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and wasted little time in making his presence felt as in the opening game against the Black Caps, he hammered 84 runs off 69 balls, which included seven boundaries and four sixes.
Even though the 34-year-old only made 10 runs when the two sides met again in the final, Santner acknowledged that he knows how good the Mardan native is.
“Yeah, he’s a problem for us. He likes playing New Zealand, I think he’s got runs every time he’s played us… We know how good he is, along with a lot of their top six, top seven,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Zaman will now be in action in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will take place from February 19 to March 9.
