Lahore Qalandars head coach Darren Gough has lauded Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf for his bowling variations, saying he has got a “good yorker” and “a good slower ball”.
Rauf has utilised these variations, along with his raw pace and ability to swing the ball, to get plenty of wickets.
In addition to possessing various types of deliveries, Gough, a former England seamer, noted that he also likes Rauf’s attitude.
“He bowls a good yorker, he’s got a good slower ball and I like his attitude,” he told PakPassion.
Rauf was involved in Pakistan’s limited overs series against Australia and took 10 wickets in three ODIs, which included a five-for, at an average of 12.
He then picked up five wickets in three T20Is at an average of 15.40.
The men in green then travelled to Zimbabwe and Rauf continued to impress, claiming three wickets in three ODIs at an average of 32.
As for the three-match T20I series that followed, he snapped up three wickets in two games at an average of 10.
Pakistan then faced South Africa and he went wicketless in both the T20I and ODI series.
Most recently, Rauf featured in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he snapped up one wicket in one game at an average of 23.
Rauf suffered a low-grade side strain in the opening game against New Zealand and was rested for the rest of the tri-series.
He is set to be fit for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
