Wasim Akram: “I was talking about an all-rounder. If you want to invest in someone for the long term, it was (Aamer) Jamal, but he is not in the squad”

Iconic Pakistan seamer Wasim Akram thinks the selectors should invest in bowling all-rounder Aamer Jamal on a long-term basis.
Wasim’s comments come after Jamal was not included in the squad announced for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The 28-year-old has represented Pakistan in eight Tests, three ODIs and six T20Is to date, but Wasim feels he should be getting more opportunities as he is capable of having an impact with both the bat and ball.
“I was talking about an all-rounder. If you want to invest in someone for the long term, it was (Aamer) Jamal, but he is not in the squad,” the Sultan of Swing told Sports Yaari as quoted by NDTV.
With the ODI tri-series done and dusted, Pakistan will now be involved in the Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
