Rashid Latif: “We have quality spinners like mystery bowler Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Faisal Akram”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has called Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem and Faisal Akram “quality spinners”.
The trio have all been given more chances at the international level lately and have showcased their talent.
During Pakistan’s tour of Australia, Muqeem took two wickets in two T20Is at an average of 15.
The men in green then went to Zimbabwe and Abrar claimed six wickets in two ODIs at an average of 13, while Faisal finished with five wickets in three games at an average of 16.
In the three T20Is that followed, Abrar picked up four wickets in two matches at an average of 12.25, while Muqeem ended up with nine wickets in three games, which included a five-for, at an astounding average of 4.66.
After this, Pakistan embarked on a tour of South Africa and Abrar took three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 22, while Muqeem claimed one wicket in one game at an average of 53.
Both players did well in the ODI series, with Abrar snapping up four wickets in two games at an average of 20 and Muqeem taking four wickets in one match at an average of 13.
Abrar then featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan and finished with seven wickets at an average of 14.57.
With Abrar, Muqeem and Faisal all having taken lots of wickets, Latif feels Pakistan should keep using them and working on their development so that they become even better.
“We have quality spinners like mystery bowler Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Faisal Akram,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Abrar will now represent Pakistan in their ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa before going on to play in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will take place from February 19 to March 9.
