Dasun Shanaka: “Fakhar Zaman has proven time and again how good he is. He is a very talented player, and watching him play is always a treat”

Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has praised Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman, saying he has “proven time and again how good he is”.
Shanaka added that Zaman is “a very talented player” and admitted it is “always a treat” to watch him in action.
Zaman is set to make his international return during the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
After this, the 34-year-old will feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy as he was included in Pakistan’s squad for the tournament.
The Mardan native has not played for his country since the 2024 T20 World Cup, meaning he missed the recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Additionally, he was also overlooked for Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan.
While away from the national team, Zaman has been active in domestic cricket and played in the Champions T20 Cup, where he ended up being the third-highest run-scorer with 303 runs in 10 matches for the Markhors, which included two fifties, at an average of 30.30 and a strike-rate of 132.31.
“Fakhar Zaman has proven time and again how good he is. He is a very talented player, and watching him play is always a treat,” Shanaka told Cricket Pakistan.
