Shan Masood: “It is a dream for any player to play three formats for Pakistan. I was representing Pakistan in all three formats one year ago”

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has expressed his desire to represent his country in all three formats once again.
Masood has been a mainstay in the Test team, but last played ODI and T20I cricket in May 2023 and November 2022 respectively.
Even though the 35-year-old knows it will be tough to revive his limited overs career, he is not giving up on this goal and has vowed to keep pursuing it.
“It is a dream for any player to play three formats for Pakistan. I was representing Pakistan in all three formats one year ago,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Masood recently led Pakistan in a two-Test series against South Africa and made 192 runs, which included a top score of 145, at an average of 48.
The men in green then took on the West Indies in a two-Test series in Multan and Masood finished with 80 runs, which included a top score of 52, at an average of 20.
It remains to be seen if Masood will achieve his dream of playing white-ball cricket again, but he was not included in Pakistan’s team for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
He was also overlooked for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
