Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman said both his fitness and batting form “are in good shape” ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Zaman was named in Pakistan’s squad for the tournament despite not having played any international cricket since the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Even though he missed Pakistan’s tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, along with their Test series against the West Indies in Multan, the 34-year-old has kept himself busy by playing domestic cricket and the ILT20, where he is representing the Desert Vipers.

The Mardan native did particularly well in the Champions T20 Cup, where he finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 303 runs in 10 matches for the Markhors, which included two fifties, at an average of 30.30 and a strike-rate of 132.31.

Considering how well he has been batting, Zaman is ready to light up the Champions Trophy.

“I have played domestic matches, I am playing in the league, and both my fitness and form are in good shape,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

The Champions Trophy will be held from February 19 to March 9.
