Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir has big aspirations for the future as he wants to become the next Babar Azam and Virat Kohli.

Azam is the backbone of Pakistan’s batting line-up, while Kohli will go down in history as one of India’s greatest batsmen of all time.

With a long way to go before he is in the same league as both players, Nazir knows he will have to put in a lot of hard work and keep performing consistently.

“In modern-day cricket, I want to play and become like Babar Azam and Virat Kohli,” the 23-year-old told Cricket Pakistan.

Nazir was not picked for Pakistan’s recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

However, he is part of the squad for the ongoing two-Test series against the West Indies, which Pakistan lead 1-0 after winning the 1st Test in Multan by 127 runs.

Nazir did not feature in the 1st Test, but will be hoping to be part of the playing XI for the 2nd Test, which starts on January 25 in Multan.

Pakistan Squad for West Indies Test Series: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Kashif Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Noman Ali, Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper), Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha
